Wedding ceremonies at Thistlewood Manor are typically outdoors – a growing trend for some time. Spring and fall weddings are especially popular in Texas since the weather is generally lovely. You may choose from several location options for your ceremony site here, such as the tree grove, in front of the fountain, or at our new “chapel.” Further, you can invigorate your ceremony space and wow your guests by choosing ideas that reflect your personal style.
Flowers certainly add much to one’s ceremony decor with perhaps a great explosion of color, or simply give it a very romantic and beautiful feel. A great florist can help you create your own special setting, and work within your budget. If florals, however, are not that important to you, or your budget is a little restrictive in this area, try some of these backdrop ideas.
For a bit of simple elegance, a draped fabric in the trees can be a perfect fit! Numerous “archways” are available or can be created, left simple or decorated to your desire, for a little more structure. Perhaps you could throw in a few antique chairs, such as these from Bee Lavish, for some vintage romance. If you are looking for a little more religious ceremony, we have created a quaint chapel backdrop here in our gardens – the blue doors are very popular, too. Or perhaps a big cross covered in florals or greenery would work for you.
Lots of greenery is a growing trend for weddings, and Whim Rentals in Dripping Springs can even provide an amazing block of greenery for your ceremony backdrop. Garlands in the trees or down the aisles are simply gorgeous. Hang some crystals, ribbons, or flowers from them. Of course, lanterns or chandeliers (available at Thistlewood) hanging in the trees or lining the aisle are always nice. What about hanging a stained glass window or a canvas of color? If your style is a little more bold, don’t be afraid to try something unexpected and dramatic. Your planner, and Pinterest, can be a great resource for ideas. Have fun!
