Many years ago, when I was still a very shy young lady, God began providing opportunities for me to realize that I loved making guests feel special with beautiful, comfortable surroundings, and delicious food. Thistlewood Manor was built out of this love. While we have been planning and dreaming of something towards this end for many years, God was working His plan, and when the time was right, He made everything come together to create this incredible place. Our continued desire, as we continue to grow, is to share our hospitality and help make people feel special in what is truly a beautiful space.
A wedding is a wonderful event created by God,
…as a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to this wife; and they shall become one flesh. — Genesis 2:24
which involves not only a special couple, but also the families and friends as they come alongside to support them in their new venture. Jesus even performed His first miracle at a wedding – as I like to think, “to keep the celebration going!”
On this memorable day of two becoming one, new families and friendships are being created. It should be a special celebration! We are now entering our third year of being ‘open for business.’ Wow! It has simply been amazing to partake in this process. It has been difficult, some of the most difficult years ever, but also very rewarding. I can hardly wait to see what is coming next. We are grateful to the many brides and grooms and families who have trusted us and allowed us to be part of their special day – a wedding day!! Their testimonies of praise are very humbling and often bring tears of joy. It has truly been an honor to serve these couples, and the many others who have celebrated here.
“Thistlewood Manor and Gardens provided us a venue for a very memorable wedding day. This venue seemed like it was hand-picked for us. Tricia and Leslie are wonderful to work with and they are both very accommodating and helpful with idea and suggestions to match our heart’s desire and preference. I would recommend Thistlewood for anyone seeking to have a romantic, classy and elegant wedding venue.” Eno, WeddingWire 2017
Of course, we are still growing, always planting something new, dreaming of some new project or better way to serve our brides and their guests. So keep watching; the best is yet to come.
Please let my family welcome you to Thistlewood Manor. Our baby daughter was the first to marry here, so here you see most of our children and grandchildren.
