Cooking Classes with Tricia


Thistlewood Manor is excited to present some fun, hands-on Cooking Classes for the Summer 2019!  A great idea for girls’ night out, date night, or just come alone and make some new friends while learning a new skill or recipe!

Growing up near my grandparents’ farm, and partaking of my Meme’s fabulous country cooking, my love of food took root. Along the way, I not only earned my Associates in Culinary Arts, but learned I truly love serving others.  Friends and family have always cheered me on in many ways… praising my food and encouraging me to venture out beyond… Eventually landing us here at Thistlewood Manor where our onsite catering is highly-praised by our many guests here.

It is truly an honor and thoroughly fun cooking here. And I’ve always loved sharing whatever I can with others in the kitchen. So…Cooking Classes have become a reality at Thistlewood Manor.

I’ll be honest, though.  If you are looking for a complicated cooking style, you will not find it here!  I love cooking, but not tedium, and I enjoy the eating and sharing just as much.  So, whatever you learn here with us, we will have fun, and you will be able to repeat at home. I like to say it’s gourmet that’s easy!

So, whether you are looking for a fun night out or a chance to learn a new skill or recipe, we have a class for you.  I am so excited to meet you and share an evening of fun, hands-on learning with you.  And when we’re done with the cooking, we will sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labor together. Yum!

…We were able to end the night feasting on the fruits of our labor with laughter in their beautiful dinning area. I feel equipped to make the dishes at home and I highly recommend this for a fun girls night out or date night! It is so wonderful to have something like this in Kyle, TX!     You will receive an invoice within 24 hours. Your registration is not complete until you receive payment confirmation


    •Reservations are required and are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    •Class size is limited to a maximum of 8 Participants.

    •Please plan on arriving 10 – 15 minutes before class in order to be checked in and in your place by the start of class. Late arrivals will disrupt the class.

    •Classes may include wine pairings, or simply a glass of wine. Must be at least 21 to drink alcohol. No alcohol may be brought on the premises.

    •Unless otherwise noted, class participants must be 17 or older. Some classes may allow for exceptions with a parent/child option and a minimum age of 13.

    •Some classes may allow “Spectators.” Typically, this would be a spouse or date who would like to come along, but not participate in the cooking. This person must be 17 or older, and typically pays half the class fee. This person may “hang-out” in the ballroom or patio, or come later, and then enjoy the delicious resulting meal with us.

    Please note that registration is a firm commitment to attend the class. A $5 handling fee is deducted from cancellations at least 7 days before the class. Cancellations after the 7th day before are non-refundable, but are transferable: to another person for this class; or to another class if notice given at least 48 hours prior to the class.

    •Menus may be subject to change due to the availability of some ingredients.

    •Hands-on Class definitions and rules:

    •Most classes are hands-on classes with everyone being a “Participant.” We will work in groups to prepare our meal, or whatever the project is; however, some prep work may be done beforehand to allow all to be completed during the class time.
    •Participants in Hands-on Classes are asked to wear closed-toe comfortable shoes, shirts with close fitting sleeves, to remove jewelry and to pull back long hair. While we take every precaution for your safety, the kitchen can be a dangerous place*.
    •Basics classes will introduce you to fundamental culinary techniques or to recipes that are easy to master. Participants must follow same rules as above.
    •All classes will provide use of the tools you need in the class, along with handouts and recipes for you to take home.

    *By registering, all attendees assume any and all risks for injury to the person or property of themselves or their guests or any other consequence arising out of attendee’s use of the Facility. Attendee hereby waives and releases its legal rights to sue for any injury or other damage arising out of or resulting from client’s use of the facility.
